19 Weeks

This is what it looks like to be 19 weeks prego! This week baby's brain is developing specifics for the 5 senses. She can hear my voice now, so we are starting to sing and talk to her! She is starting to grow beautiful hair. Her arms and legs are proportioned to her body now. She is about 6 inches and about hte size of a "large heirloom tomato" according to BabyCenter. They send us updates every week with interesting little tidbits.

I am feeling great, just noticing things are not fitting quite the same anymore. No need for maternity clothes yet, but they may be down the road. So far I can't complain about pregnancy, but I have a feeling it doesn't get any better from here on out!

Spring break with Kylie

Kyle came to spend spring break with us in Spokane while Mom and Dad went on a little vacay to San Diego. Apparently a "romantic getaway" doesn't involve taking your 17 year old son....go figure! I had to work, but Nick had the week off and spent the days mountain biking with Kyle, getting him hooked on some new games, and watching movies. When I was home we did a little hiking, went out for dinner, and more movies! Thanks for coming, Kyle! We had fun with you and hope you had fun too!

Kyle and Nick....snow on the ground!

The three of us...I look enormous but I promise it is because I have a big puffy down jacket underneath plus about 5 other layers. It was cold still!

For the first time in my life, I feel WICKED! :)

Don't worry that's a line from the musical! Mom won hands down this past year for best Christmas gift! She gave Christina and I tickets to see Wicked in Portland for a girl's weekend. We had a fabulous time! It started out with some mexican food for lunch,

An AMAZING show,

Shopping, nail painting in the hotel room, and more food!

Thanks so much, Mom for such a fabulous weekend! You're a trooper for putting up with 2 pregnant women too!

Tickled Pink

Yes, we are expecting! We found out today that unlike our ultrasonographer's previous guess of a boy at 11 weeks, we are actually having a girl!!!! I am tickled pink! ;)

When I first found out I was pregnant I was sure that I was having a girl. Call it mother's instinct, but I really felt like it, and when I read up on all of the "old wive's tales" I fit all (ok most...some of them are a little wacky) of the girl categories. So when our sonogram showed what definitely looked like a boy at 11 weeks, I was a little sad. I will admit, I shed a few tears (darn pregnancy hormones!) but after a day of thinking it over, I was excited for a boy.

When it came time for our appointment this week, I was ready for the gender confirmation, but still had a slight hope that I would get to buy some pink. Nick was going to meet me at the doctor's because he had class, and didn't make it in time for the beginning of my appointment. I was already in little-girl heaven when Nick showed up for the last few minutes of the sonogram and he too found out the good news.

Of course I already bought a few boy's clothes, so we will have to plan on some in the future! :) Here's few shots of my slowly growing tummy over the past few weeks. I can't tell much of a difference usually, and I think it mostly depends on what I am wearing. I think I can feel her moving, but I am not really sure since I have never done this before!

15 weeks....

16 weeks....

17 weeks...

18 weeks....

Wow I look really white in my 17 week picture. Hopefully it's the lighting?? I am healthy, have gained 2 lbs so far, and baby weighs about 9 oz. She's in the 40th percentile for now, so a decent sized baby. They checked out her heart, spinal cord, brain, kidneys, and a few other things and they all look great. And no cleft palate! A dental hygienist's dream baby. I will post some pictures of our sweet pea soon. Stay tuned!

Bowling

I don't think or expect many people to check our blog often, but I hope that it will be a good photo journal for our posterity. Especially since our posterity is on its way! I have been taking some "tummy shots" every week so those posts are coming soon. Gotta document!

For my last New Year's post, we had a a little late night bowling fun with the Wilsons

So excited we can hardly stand it!

Waiting for their turn

Alkai Beach and Botanical Gardens

We went with my parents, Kyle, Brian, Christina and Logan to dinner at Alkai Beach and then to the Botanical Gardens in Bellevue to see their lights display. I tried to get some good pictures, but none of them turned out very good. During the spring/summer these gardens are immaculately manicured and amazing to see all of the flowers and foliage. Every winter they have a light display of flowers. Up close they are eveen cooler to see--Christmas tree-sized lights make up all of these fruits and flowers.

Gourmet Gingerbread Houses

My mom and I checked out some awesome gingerbread houses at the Seattle Sheraton this year. They have a competition every year, and the teams have to get sponsors, architects, bakers, and more. It's pretty intense, and actually gets donations to support worthy causes. I think the theme this year was comic books...hence all of the batman, etc.

Here's my cute mom posing outside:

This was my favorite house...it's hard to see but all of the angles of the house are cartoon-ish, and inside each window was a little scene like a barber's, doctor's office, fire station, etc and they were all made completely of candy. Very intricate!

The ice castle
Firemen saving Santa who is stuck in the chimney!

One of the rooms in my favorite house....

Mom and Mario...yes, all candy

This was pretty awesome...it was made to look like some kid's desk and even the wood, comic book, staplers, lamp were all candy.

New Year's in Seattle

The Wilson family got together for some yummy lunch and playing at the church in Lake Stevens. It was fun to see all of our cousins....they get so much bigger every time I see them that I hardly recognize some of them!

Nathaniel ready for a ride....

3 of the 4 Wilson brothers....

Jenni and Avery....

Many years ago (6 years actually) we had a New Year's get together with the Wilsons and took a picture just like this one. I was hoping I could find it and compare the two, but I have yet to find it. Still a cute picture!

Brian and Kyle playing frisbee....

Nice catch, Nick!

Avery, Natasha, Serena, and Christopher hanging out...

All of the kids love riding on the scooters...

We took some family pictures (Christina do you have some? I don't have any family ones!) and I got a few shots while we were setting up...

These were the lovely Seattle conditions our poor photographer and her assistant had to work under!

Wilson family 3....soon to be 4!

Mother and daughter shots....

Waiting in the car until the last possible second!
