New News!
Lots of new posts to catch up on everything. It's amazing what I can get done when I'm home alone for the day. I hope I won't get so behind when baby finally comes so I can keep this updated with new news on our bundle of joy!
Memorial Day weekend 2009
This makes 2 years running for a new tradition if you remember my post from Memorial Day last year....we went to Sam's cabin in Ellensburg again for a long weekend getaway. It was a little quieter this year without Kyle's friends and no Brian, Christina, or Logan. We started out with the farmer's market downtown Ellensburg and got some grubbin homemade nachos, fresh salsa and apples. Then we headed up to the cabin for LOTS of good food, hiking, and shooting. We introduced my family to So You Think You Can Dance, and played a few games while talking and enjoying the sunshine. We all left a little pink, very well rested and happy to have spent some time together. Thanks to Sam and his family again for being so generous!

Nick was impressed....I had 4 bullseyes on my first round! :)

BSA
For the past 10 months I have been the Bear Scouts den mother for 2 combined wards. I was a little skeptical when I got called...I didn't know a thing about it besides the pack meetings with the cheesy songs! Nevertheless, it's been a fun challenge every Tuesday night to have activities with these 9 year old boys. Our group has grown quite a bit over the past few months and there's usually an average of 8-9 boys there. They can be a handful and love to be a little crazy. Nick helped out for several weeks while I was the only leader, as well as a few weeks ago when we had a bike ride. My dr said no bike riding for preggo's, so here he is leading the pack in my place with Jessica, our other leader bringing up the back.
So excited to be outdoors!

Easter??
I just found some Easter pictures and I don't think I ever posted any. Better late than never! (unfortunately it seems like that has been my motto lately!) Nick and I dyed some eggs, and had a delicious Easter dinner together. We just stayed home for a change and it was nice to have some quality one-on-one time. We tried some fancy things with our eggs like tie-dying and marbleizing, but none of them worked out too great. Better luck next year!

25 Weeks
I know I'm already at 26 weeks, but since I haven't taken a picture yet for this week, you're getting some old news! At 25 weeks our baby is about 13 1/2 inches long, weighs around 1 1/2 pounds, and is about the size of a rutabaga...but who knows what that looks like?! She loves to kick, usually when I am cleaning teeth at work, or when I am trying to go to sleep at night. Convenient, just like her due date!
We have been trying to downsize and packing what we can. The Wilsons are coming soon with lots of boxes to help us get packed up. Time sure flies by when you're busy! I have been going to lots of yard sales and trying to get together some baby things so I'm not scrambling to get everything together the month before she's due. We have decided to cloth diaper, and before you think we are crazy you should look into it yourself! Not only is it MUCH less expensive, but it is more healthy for your baby, and environmentally friendly because you don't fill our landfills up with dirty diapers! Fyi...it takes 400-500 years for each disposable diaper to disintegrate. Think about how many you go through in just a week! If you want more information on cloth diapering, feel free to ask! :) I'm by no means an expert, but I hope to be soon.

6 months along
6 months is a good place to be. Feeling pretty good, but my joints are getting a little swollen thanks to the heat and pregnancy. No cankles yet....I'll keep you posted. This week baby weighs in at just over a pound. She is almost a foot long--about the size of an ear of corn. Speaking of ears of corn, I just can't get enough fresh corn and watermelon this summer. I guess that's nothing new for me though. Baby's brain is growing quickly right now, and her taste buds are developing.
This week at 24 weeks and counting....

Last week at 23 weeks along....

You know those pictures you look back at and think, "Ugh! I really should have put on makeup before taking that one!"?? Well this is one of those...a little sun-burnt too from a fun weekend in the mountains. More posts on that trip to come.
We have lots of fun camping trips coming up, starting to pack, and looking for somewhere to live in WI. I have a month of work left (thank goodness!) and Nick is done with school in one more week. It's warm and sunny and we love being in Spokane for a little while longer!
