This is the first week of my life....

That's actually a really great song modified a bit (Nate and Jen's wedding song!) I can't believe my baby girl is a week old today! I feel like I was cheated a bit though, because 3 1/2 days of the first 7 in her life I wasn't able to have her with me. Camille had to be in the NICU for a few days and didn't get to come home until Wednesday afternoon. She is fine now, but when she was born she had a temp of 102, and her cord pH was 7.0. So I only got to hold her for a few seconds before she was whisked off to the nicu shortly after her birth at 8:37am. I didn't get to see her again until around 7pm that night, and only for a short while again. She started gagging and spitting up fluids, so they had to stick a suction down to her stomach and put her on an IV and a reflux med. Her doctor wanted to monitor her for quite awhile, and although everything turned around quickly they wanted to keep her there to make sure she was eating well. She had a hard time nursing at first but has finally started to get the hang of it. We are so glad to finally have her home and in our lives! What a sweet little blessing she has been.

Here are a few pictures of her first week....sorry they are kind of backwards!

Dressed in her skirt on sunday...even though I didn't take her to church

2 Days to D-Day!

Well the big due date is in just 2 days, and our little princess still has not made her grand entrance. Que the old wives tales for inducing labor! My doctor's appointment went great today, and although my doctor still thinks I'll go into labor on my own, she did schedule to induce me on the 24th (next thursday!) at 7am. I am kind of thinking it will be sometime in the next few days though. I am 2 cm and 50% effaced. She also stripped my membranes, and I guess some people even go into labor that night! So our bags are packed, we're ready to go.....wish us luck! Hopefully the next post will be accompanied by some pictures of a cute little pink bundle!

White Coat Ceremony

Marquette had his white coat ceremony last weekend. The students all got to take an oath about being a "dr in training" and got white lab coats with their names on it. Kind of fun, and then afterwards there was a fancy reception with yummy food. Prego's delight. Here's a picture of all 8 of the LDS guys in their class of 80 people. Not bad for a catholic school!
