4 Months Old!

Now that I'm finally around to posting, Camille is actually 4 1/2 months old. What a difference 4 months can make! We finally have a flow to our lives and they all seem to work together. Camille is a sweet baby and although she has her moments, she is much less fussy than her previous months of life. She is finally taking great naps (hooray!) and is finally back on her sleeping schedule for night time. That's it for the boring stuff, here's some pictures of the fun stuff and her current stats:

Camille is 12 lbs = 25th percentile for weight, and 24 1/2 inches = 50th percentile for height.

She still LOVES to strrrrrreeeeeeetttcccchh whenever she wakes up

Loves to wiggle ALL around

Especially when mom's trying to take pictures

Loves to smile more each day

Still loves to chew on her hands

Enjoys family prayer each night

Lately Camille has been:
  • sucking on her lower lip
  • trying to roll over
  • found a new way to use her voice--to make a lovely pterodactyl sound
  • smiles and talks to the "baby in the mirror"
  • will smile and start cooing whenever daddy talks to her on the phone
  • likes to stand all the time
  • wanting attention ALL the time (can't blame her)
  • loves the weekends best when mom and dad are with her all day long
  • is enjoying a little rice cereal each night
Check back for pictures of Camille's first rice cereal experience!

Bowling!

On Grandpa J's birthday we went bowling. Can you believe the bowling alley had a dress code?! Here's what it said in case you can't read it:

All clothing must be neat & clean:
No rips or excessive holes
Shirts ad shoes must be worn at all times (what about taking them off to put on the bowling shoes??)
Pants must be worn at or above the waist
No profanity/ethnic remarks on clothing
No brimless hats/caps

The birthday boy and beautiful grandma

Camille just woke up...what would you do if you went to sleep at home and woke up at a loud bowling alley?

I always try to get some "in-action" shots of bowling, but I can never time them right! And yes, I used bumpers. I don't know why I don't do that every time! :)

I Resolve....

New Year's Resolutions

1.
Daily scripture reading. I have been horrible since becoming a mom, and wasn't great before that.

2.
Nightly family prayer. We have been doing better the last few weeks. It's always more motivating knowing that you have a little one to teach!

3.
Learn to knit. Anyone want to teach me??

4.
Sew a quilt. A cute, shabby chic style one that will match Camille's room

5.
Grind my own wheat and bake bread. I still haven't ever baked bread on my own. I sort of have a complex with yeast....

6.
Exercise daily. It's definitely the daily things that I need to work on. They aren't on my "to do list" so I don't check them off as often. I got a "Dancing with the Stars" and "The Biggest Loser" workout video for christmas, so I'll be doing those until I can get outside again when it's warmer!

7.
Make Nick's lunches the night before. It's always easier to do things ahead of time, but who really feels like it the night before?!

8.
Start going to ward choir. We'll see about this one...

9. Take a class. Any kind. I just don't want my brain turning to mush!

10. Work on food storage and emergency supplies. I thought we were doing pretty good, but after reading several articles on the hardships in Haiti, it makes me want to fill our living room with drinking water storage, food, and other supplies. Can you ever have enough? Scary to think about.

We'll evaluate this at least in a year, perhaps at the halfway mark too. Feel free to ask me how any of them are coming; hopefully I will remember I'm supposed to work on them!

Thursday at our home

It's Thursday and I am trying to write my talk for this Sunday. Even though it's slow going (short attention span!) it's way better than my normal "night before" talks. I guess that explains why I am blogging right now instead of writing it! I need to do a resolution blog. On a friend's blog she writes down her resolutions each year, and then the following year reviews the success of each one before writing her new ones. It might help knowing I will have to come back to them next year, so I will be doing that soon. I have a few things in mind.

I finally got our Christmas decorations put away. Why does it take 3 times as long to put them away as it does to put them up? It's not nearly as fun either.

Camille and I have had lots of play time today. Lately she has been rolling from her back on to her side. Today she rolled all the way over to her tummy but couldn't get her arm out from under her. Not too exciting for anyone except for her mommy! I don't think she is growing very much until I look back at old pictures or have to box up more clothes that don't fit anymore. I knew it would go by way too fast, but nothing can quite prepare you for it. That's why it's important to enjoy every stage!

Ok enough random thoughts! Back to work ;)

Grandma Harker

Camille loves her Grandma Harker! Grandma waited and waited to meet Camille for the first time in December. When she finally did she loved and held her all day long. I don't think any one else got a chance very often because Grandma always had first dibs! :) We can't wait for her and Grandpa Harker to come visit us soon!

Birthday, Family Pictures and Christmas!

Grandpa Johnson's birthday is 2 days before Christmas. I am sure growing up he got plenty of birthday gifts with Christmas wrapping paper, not to mention a lot of presents combined. If I ever have a child on or near Christmas, I will make sure to have them very separate from each other!

We did family pictures indoors this year because it was so COLD outside! Camille spit up on her dress right before pictures, so she got to wear a burp cloth to prevent further incidents.

My mom and niece

My mom loves this picture. She thinks it looks really moody and deep, like Kyle and I just got done with a big fight. I'm pretty sure there was no fighting going on, but it is still cool looking. :)

As tradition goes for the past 2 years, we went to the botanical gardens in Bellevue on Christmas eve to see their "garden lights" display. They were awesome as usual! We sure had to bundle up though.

Christmas morning!

Camille's first doll from G&G Wilson

Hugs! She loves it!

Jenna worked and worked and finally got a hold some presents!

Nick is super excited to model one of Camille's swaddleme's.

Grandpa J got something in a victoria's secret bag........unfortunately for him it was a giant bag of roasted peanuts.
