It's a beautiful day

It was so beautiful in Seattle that we took advantage of the warm weather and sunshine and took walks almost every day. Warm weather for February that is--we still had to dress warmly! I think Seattle set some records for their warmest January yet. I took Jenna and Camille on a walk one day and of course everyone thought they were twins. They looked way too cute and too fancy to be going on a walk I think! :)

photoshoots

Camille still likes to ruin our photo shoots sometimes with "deer in headlights" look

Or a little something like this:

I love this girl!

Baby it's cold outside!

Living in beautiful Wisconsin brings some fun and interesting new lifestyles. For example, did you know that the Costco here sells an ice fishing hut and auger? Yeah I thought the same thing when I saw it! When Nick and I were out a few weeks ago we saw kids playing ice hockey...outside! I'm sure for some of you this is normal, but I thought it was crazy that I live somewhere where the weather permits. In all fairness, it's actually been a really mild winter and we've had very little snow. I felt like a major creep after I had Nick drive by the kids playing hockey slowly so I could get a picture for my blog :) Sorry kids, I'm really not a creep!

Lake Michigan

We bundled up and we visited Lake Michigan a few weeks ago to see the ice. It was beautiful--the shore was iced over a few feet into the water, and if you looked out several yards into the water, the lake was frozen too. Because of the waves it wasn't freezing right by the shore. We have heard that when it has been especially cold and the wind blows from the east, there are floating ice chunks that clink around and make an amazing sound when they hit each other. We will have to watch the weather and go back again! Here's a few pictures we took. Camille doesn't look like she is having fun, but she was more interested in sucking on the collar of her snowsuit at the time. She always enjoys being outside, and I think she liked getting out of the house.

Lots to blog about!

I have been pretty good about blogging once a week lately, but I have taken a little time off. For a good reason too! I got to take a little trip with Camille so she could meet her Uncle Gregory! That's right, he's finally home from his mission. Pictures from our recent adventures to follow.

Food, glorious food!

When Camille got the green light from her pediatrician to start trying food, we couldn't wait! After picking up some rice cereal, we gave it our best shot! We filmed the first time, and unfortunately I only took pictures before the big event but not during (the pics at the bottom). We re-created the moment when Nick fed Camille the next day. The first few times I'm not sure much went down, but she seems to enjoy it now as long as I keep it coming quick before she is ready to get down. Thanks to Nate and Jen for letting us borrow a spoon and teaching us how to feed her the right way! :)
