6 Months!

Camille turned 6 months old last Saturday.  My how the time flies!  At her doctor's appointment, her doctor wanted to know about her development and asked me, "So tell me what Camille can do.  Brag about her."  Umm I sort of drew a blank.  "She can roll over?"  Old news.  What can she do?  After coming up with a few I went home thinking about it and created a mental "brag list".  Here's a few I came up with:

  • Loves to roll all over the floor as well as her crib--you never know where she will end up in her crib when you get her up from a nap
  • Loves to play with her toys, especially new ones or "toys" such as dishes, mom's sewing things, plastic bags, toothbrushes....
  • Can reach for and grab most anything, and of course it goes straight in her mouth.
  • Working on sitting up by herself.  She can do pretty good for a few minutes unless she tries to get something
  • Loves to smile and coo at the "baby in the mirror"
  • Wiggles all the time; likes to kick her feet when she is happy or excited
  • Loves to eat, especially peas and her liquid multivitamin
  • Giggles for Daddy the most
  • Learning how to clap
  • Loves to be outside
  • Loves when we sing to her.  Her favorites song that will always make her smile no matter what is "How Much is That Doggy in the Window".  Random....I think she likes the barking :)

Camille's stats this time:
  •  weight:  13 lbs, 14 oz  20th percentile
  •  length:   26 inches  75th percentile
I already had a chat with her--if she is going to be a tall, skinny, gorgeous supermodel, she still has to dress modestly.  :)   I'm just glad it looks like she will be a little taller than her short Mama.  Still no teeth, although I'm checking every day.  I think she's teething, but who really knows?!  Mom and Dad can't wait for teeth of course! ;)  Camille has chilled out and is generally a very content baby, happy to help me with cleaning or projects as long as she is right there with me.  She has had a few times of "stranger anxiety".  It's so weird the first time it happens.  I think she looks more like Nick every day (with my eyes I hope?) and we love her more and more each day.  Can't believe it....we all made it 6 months! :)

I posted my favorite pictures from the photoshoot I tried to have.  I decided a few things:

1) I need a new camera!
2) It definitely helps to have someone else to help!
3)  I want to take a beginning photography class sometime.

After 15 minutes of trying to get Camille to smile or at least look at me, I called the Sessions for their help.  Thanks for coming guys!  Hope you enjoy my attempts at some "professional" looking shots!

Our 6 Month Sweetheart

We celebrated Camille's 6 month birthday with another attempt at a photo shoot!  You'll have to keep in mind that I am VERY amateur, no training whatsoever, so here is a preview...more pictures to come!

Winter Olympics 2010

We hosted our own Winter Olympics this year for "family date night".  In the line up we had:

Team Germany
 Team India

 Team China
Yes these are homemade lederhosen.  She makes a cute little German baby

After our dinner of food from our homelands, we competed in events such as
Yellow snow eating contest (italian ice, but everyone chose strawberry flavor instead of lemon)
Flour cake hunt
Coin spin
India came in first, Germany second and China was a close third.   Check back for our summer olympics in a few months!

Mom and me time

Camille and I have fun together every day. She is a great helper and loves to watch me wash dishes. We love to play, sing, practice standing and sitting up. I can't believe how quickly she is growing and figuring out new things every day! I'm so grateful I can spend so much time with Camille!

Little Miss Piggy

When Camille was a baby she would sometimes make snorting noises when working up to a cry, and when she is hungry she eats like she is a ravenous pig. So, meet our little piggy!

Snoqualmie Falls

We hiked Snoqualmie Falls and got to try out Camille's new hiking pack. I know she is supposed to face the other direction, but because she is small still she couldn't see anything if she was the other way.

As Gregory says, he is "winking with both eyes"

Thanks for being in charge of the camera, Grego!

Nick's parents came to seattle for the weekend to see Camille and I (ok mostly for Camille! :) ) and we had a great time with them!

After Gregory's talk on Sunday we had our extended family in WA over for dinner and fun. It was great to see everyone and show them Camille since we didn't get together over Christmas.
