Happy Earth Day!
Happy Earth Day! From our part of the world to yours.
To celebrate, think of one thing you could do to be a little more earth friendly....and start doing it! 10 easy ideas:
I prefer to stay away from the term "Go Green". This seems like a trend lately to me, and being earth friendly should never be a trend that goes out of style after some time. People have been doing this forever, and we should make it a lifetime habit in our own way!
Isn't it funny that most things you can do to be earth friendly also happen to save you money??
To celebrate, think of one thing you could do to be a little more earth friendly....and start doing it! 10 easy ideas:
- recycle your paper, glass, plastic
- take shorter showers
- quit using plastic water bottles and get a cool, reusable one
- make your own cleaning supplies
- use cloth diapers! :)
- borrow instead of buying (hello library!)
- switch to fluorescent light bulbs
- print on both sides of your paper
- walk, ride your bike or bus whenever possible
- use cloth (or some type of reusable) grocery bags. our grocery store gives a 5 cent credit towards your purchase for each bag you bring!

7th Heaven
7 months is a dreamy age. Camille not only sleeps well but is generally happy and easy baby. If only it would last forever! ;) I am loving each and every stage of her life. Each one comes with its own challenges but also its sweet moments I hope to never forget. Camille you are such a sweet girl and bring so much joy and happiness to my life!
Ok enough sappy mom stuff! Nick's been busy at school, but when we can we enjoy the great weather outside! Nothing too exciting is happening but everyone is healthy and happy. Can't ask for much more.
Here's a few pics to enjoy!

Visit from the Grandparents
Grandma and Grandpa Harker got to come visit us for Easter! We had a fun time doing lots of things including: watching lots of movies, BBQ-ing, dying eggs, Easter dinner, baseball game, fish fry friday, car shopping (for Debbie!), hanging out and enjoying our time together. We are so glad you came to see us!
The classic "feeding the baby face". Can anyone feed their baby without making "the face"? I know I can't!
Checking out her first sippy cup. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!
Easter bonnet...I believe it used to be mine!

Easter Egg Hunt
Ready to get our hunt on at our ward's egg hunt/brunch!
I didn't plan for it to be outside so we wrapped up in a blanket
It was so much fun!
Camille scored 4 eggs
Our family
Here's Camille dressed up for our Easter Sunday (a week early due to general conference)
No way will she smile when I get the camera out!

Due to Circumstances....
.......and the circumstances being that my blog was recently visited by someone in both Vietnam and Saudi Arabia, I will be making my blog private in a few weeks. I'll give plenty of time to get your email to me if you'd like an invite so you can still read it. Of course I love to share and even more love your comments, it makes me a little uneasy not knowing who is looking at pictures of my family. So all of you readers, even blog stalkers ;) don't be shy and send me your addy. I'm more than happy to share if you found my blog from a friend of a friend, and I'm sure I remember you even if you think I wouldn't.
Revelation
Make fun of me if you'd like, but it wasn't until I was a mom for a few weeks and revisited all of my childhood songs again that I had a groundbreaking revelation. The ABC song and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star have the same tune! And today, even more amazing, I discovered that Baa Baa Black Sheep has the same tune as well!
In my defense, I did know that the melody that Twinkle Twinkle was based on an old french song "Ah vous dirai-je, Maman" and that Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart composed a delightful little number of variations of this song. Maybe this is why they call it the "Mozart effect" for children...
Learn something new every day! :)

Easter Basket
I have been making lots of little (EASY) crafty items lately. I decided I would start sharing some things, and maybe even how to do them. This is a little late, but I decided to make Camille a cute little Easter basket 2 weeks ago.
I don't have any before and after pics, but I started off my idea at Goodwill. I found a cute little basket, the right size for my little peanut. It was ugly glittery gold at the time, and fit the bill at 99 cents. I spray painted it with Krylon "heirloom white" I think it was called.
Then I hot glued on some pouff flowers I made from some leftover fabric (from her hairbow holder I made) and tulle. Voila! Simple, cute, easy and only 99 cents!
I guess I didn't even think about needing to use non-toxic paint...

Maple Syrup
We got to see how maple syrup is made a few weeks ago in Illinois.
They had tree tapping demonstrations and samples of yummy maple syrup.
They had animals to look at too, my favorite was the bald eagle and little turtles they had inside the visitor's center!
We are ready for spring though! We have enjoyed weather in the 70's frequently the past few weeks.
Camille continues to love eating! She is usually a pretty clean eater but of course she has her moments...

New Trick
Camille's latest tricks include sitting up on her own, dancing to any type of music she hears (she enjoyed General Conference for its frequent dance opportunities) and singing along to music. Unfortunately for her the first two tricks cancel each other out if she is sitting by herself and gets a little too wild with rockin out!

Spring Break 2010
I hate doing "catch-up blogging" but it seems like there is always something going on and before I know it I have a bunch of pictures that I need to post!
For Nick's spring break we went with a 5 (6 really) other families to the Wisconsin Dells where there are waterparks galore! We stayed at a resort that has an indoor waterpark. The 3 bedroom condo we got with 2 other families was fabulous--a shared living room, dining, full kitchen and huge jacuzzi tub. We had a blast playing at the waterpark all day and playing games and hanging out at night.
Camille loved the water. Here she is in her swimsuit ready for the first day!
Camille went down a few kiddie water slides with mom and dad, but her favorite part was floating along the lazy river!
Her first bubble bath/hot tub
She loved it!
This is so you can see how huge it is. I think we fit a couple adults and several kids in this at the same time!
We had a great time....we might have to make this an annual tradition! :)

Barbeque Season Kickoff!
We kicked off the grilling season a little premature...the boys had to wear coats and we had to eat inside, but it was fabulous nonetheless! The ribs were amazing, along with the rest of our grillin' meal!
Not quite yet flip flop season either, but we are excited for it!
Jen gave me one of those u-shaped pillows that comes with a pattern so you can sew your own cover. Here's the finished product. It was supposed to be an invisible zipper, but I got the wrong kind. I think it still turned out ok. It was my first time with a zipper and I was wishing my mom was here to teach me how! Thanks again, Jen, for such a fun and thoughtful gift! :)
