Beach Babe

This trip to the beach was a hundred times better than the last!  After battling Camille trying to eat every rock, shell and grain of sand she could get her hands on, we went to the water.

This time there was much better results.

She loved the water, even though it was a bit chilly!

But the battle continued.  You win some, you loose some I guess...

I love my little beach bum!

Mini Van or Not?

Nick and I don't always agree on everything, but one thing we always do is that we would rather not drive a mini-van.  However, this video may just have changed my mind.  Meet the Swagger Wagon:

love it

9 Month Stats

Camille had her 9 month doctor's appointment.  I hate it when she gets shots but she is a brave girl and is happy quickly after.  Here's how she comes in at 9 months old:

Weight: 16 lbs 13 oz, 20th percentile
Length:  28 inches, 75th percentile

Same percentiles as last time, glad she is on track!

On a different note, we had a tornado warning last night for a few hours!  Pretty crazy lightening and some rain, but nothing much besides that.  I freaked a little when the tornado sirens came on and we got our 72 hr kits and some food ready to go to the basement, but luckily we didn't have to wake Camille up when they went off soon after.  The twister hit 125 homes in Eagle, WI but luckily there were only minor injuries.

Let's hope that's the last of tornado warnings in this area for awhile!

9 Months and we still can't get enough!

I can't get enough
I wanna eat you up
I wanna have you for dinner
Leftovers for lunch
I love every little thing about you baby
Don't ya know?

Sunshine by G Love and Special Sauce

Camille is officially 9 months old today!  I can't believe she has lived just as long in this world as she has in my tummy!

She is enjoying this world and learning so much.  For Father's Day we made a card with Camille's hand prints.  I compared them to some we made when she was a week old and my how her hands have grown!  It made me sad, but I'm glad she is progressing!

Lately Camille loves:
  • clapping
  • waving bye-bye
  • making snake "ssssss" noises
  • playing in the water fountains
  • saying "mama"and "dada"
  • crawling backwards (one step forward, two steps back more or less!)
  • working on getting some canines in
  • eating most anything, but particularly:
    • celery sticks
    • watermelon
    • veggie crisps
    • corn on the cob
Camille has captured our hearts and wrapped them around her little finger.   We love her so much and are so grateful to be her parents!

Stats to come after our appointment this week! :)

P.S.  If you had to pick 2 pictures to get prints of, which would they be??  I am having a hard time deciding!  Thanks :)

The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner

I just read this book and it's interesting enough to pass on.  Stephanie Myer (yes, Twilight) wrote it and you can read it online for free until July 5th.  It's a short, quick read, only 178 pages long.  Check it out!

J Crew Necklace

Today I made this cute J Crew inspired necklace:

This isn't a picture of mine---I borrowed the pic from the blog I got the idea.  Easy and classy, I think I'll be wearing this one lots!

Single anyone?

I didn't really like this song until I heard this version.  Perfect for a pick-me-up to a lousy day.  Love it!

Beach trip

Camille's first beach trip.  She ate lots of sand, and screeched high pitch dog calls when we stuck her toes in the water.  Overall a successful first experience!

Sorry for the out of control hair.  Nick didn't mention it so I had no idea until I looked at the pics later.  :)

Family pics

I always loved looking through family pictures where my dad is caught running back from setting the camera, the kids are all over the place or someone is blinking etc.  So much more fun to look at than the "normal" pictures that everyone looks great.

One particular set of family pictures I remember is when we took them at a park on the playground equipment.  We were all lined up by age on the slide, and my dad would come and jump at the top *hopefully* before the self-timer went off each time.  I was second to last on the slide and had the job of holding baby Gregory at the bottom of the slide.  Gregory was wiggly so half the time he was sliding down out of my arms, and the rest of the time my dad was still running back.  I'm not sure if we got any good pics or not!

We tried to take some family pics on Sunday, and the result was similar.  In fact, these are the best ones we got.  We gave up after a few tries and just took some of Camille.  Luckily those turned out cute at least! :)

Wow I kind of get the feeling I should rename this blog "christina's adventures in photography"!

May Break

We got to spend Nick's break in good old Washington.  Our trip unexpected, last minute, and every second jam packed full of fun!  Here is an overload of pictures to prove it!

First stop was Tri-Cities for some dirt biking

We made it for sweet little Madux's baby blessing

Madux himself all gussied up for the occasion

Nick worked on building a pergola for his brother's house with his cousin

Camille got to spend lots of time with her cousins!

Worked on sharing with others

Then it was off to Seattle

Camille and Jenna so kindly taste-tested all of grandma's toys for her

We played at the park at Lake Washington

Then decided to do a little kayaking and picnic since the weather permitted

Logan babysat Kyle's new kitty Jack and Jack's sister

Nick pondering his sandwich with a nice view of a Boeing airplane plant

Camille just loves being outside

We were happy to come, sad to leave, and excited for our next visit in August!  We love all of our great family! :)
