Big Fat Picture Post

Just what it sounds like with more to come!

Our messy eater having some corn

bathing beauties

Some pictures from our camping trip to Dosewallips State Park off of the Hood Canal with the Wilsons.  It was beautiful and we had the best of both worlds--cabins with beds to sleep in, but we still got to make yummy camping food outside. Most of these pics (the good ones) are compliments of Christina's Portraits. (no, not me, Christina Wilson)

This tree is actually higher up than it looks.  Maybe 8 feet?

Grandkid shot

Don't try this at home.  It was scary!

The girlies playing in the river

Checking out the rocks

Relaxing at the ocean

Ready to leave on a hike

These spider webs were awesome.  They were an umbrella shape.  Anyone know what kind of spiders?

Nick is a great babysitter!

Tons of elk!

Camille was sick, so Nick stayed home with her while my mom and I took Logan to the zoo.  Not many pictures, but this monkey was cute with a burlap sack on his head!

Rose gardens outside the zoo

I love these trees, I think they are awesome looking!

We spent a day downtown Seattle

First stop was World Spice.  So much fun and so many awesome spices!  The shop smells amazing.

Just hangin out with Jacob.......fun shop downstairs at Pike Place Market

Camille on the famous brass pig at Pike's.  Doing her usual "stank face"

Again with the stank face.  Pretty buck

AND the family pic.  Of course we got some hot n fresh mini donuts and sampled some smoked salmon!

The girls

This dude was awesome.  "The Cat Whisperer".  He gives advice about your cat.  I loved his tiger hat, and the fact that he even had his kitty there with him on the table.

Nick and I canoed in the Lake Washington at the UW arboretum

Best shot we could get together

I think this is a blue heron?

Grandma and Camille played on shore while we had our fun!

Birthday Girl

It snuck up much faster than any of us expected.  My sweet baby girl is now a toddler!

Monday we celebrated Camille's first birthday.  We had a fun day doing lots of Camille's favorite things, then had some friends over for cupcakes!

This may be boring for most, so feel free to skip the text and just look at the pics!
A few things about Camille at age 1 to remember:

  • favorite toys are her books.  when we got back from our month long trip, the first thing Camille did was take out all of her books and look at them.  her favorite is "Moon and Stars" I think because it is the tiniest book and easy to carry around the house!  she also really likes "touch and feel" books.
  • loves to put things in and out of baskets or boxes. I have been finding all sorts of interesting things in the washing machine lately that she has slipped into the laundry baskets after I sort them.
  • one of her favorite games is to put a bunch of little toys into her bumbo chair, then sit in it on top of it all.  doesn't look very comfortable but she sure loves it!
  • still loves baths and showers.  figured out how to get into the tub herself, and will do so any chance she gets!
  • learned how to use a straw
  • pretty good with baby sign, tells me when she wants food, drink, is all done, or wants more
  • new words:  Jack, light, uh oh, "bzzzz" (bee sound), "ssss" (snake sound), yay
  • has 12 teeth--all 6 anteriors and 4 molars
  • getting pretty good at cruising furniture and using her walker.  maybe walking soon, we will see!
  • can point to where Mom's eyes, nose, and mouth are
  • waves hi whenever we go up to someone's door
  • will blow her nose when I go to wipe it (yay! I hate wiping noses when they don't blow!)

The day after her birthday we got to go to the doctor's for some fun shots.  Camille's 12 months stats were:

  • Length:  29 in, 50th percentile
  • Weight:  18 lbs, 13 oz, 15-20th percentile
Still on track and healthy!  Having a happy, healthy baby is more than I can ask for.  I could brag about her for hours, but I will spare you! :)  I'll just say, thank heaven for little girls!  What a blessing they are!

Crazy to think...

that a year ago today I was trying to catch a few zzz's in between contractions before heading to the hospital in a few hours.  I can't believe it will be a year tomorrow!  Here's to my sweet toddler, no longer a baby!

And here's to the start of another great year!

Back Again

Once again I have a lot of photo catching up to do.  We had a great summer break in Washington and got to do so many fun things!  The highlight was definitely just being with our family...no matter what we were up to.  Camille and I got to go to Utah as well, and finally made it back from our month long trip.

Nick is into his 2nd year of dental school (YAY!!) and it's going great so far.  I've been catching up with things at home and getting into the groove of things again.

Here's one pic for now...Cam getting hosed off in a bucket at the Wilson's

Crazy Sleeper

We have a crazy sleeper on our hands.  Many have witnessed this first hand by watching our "Cam-Cam" webcam of Camille while she is sleeping at night.  She wiggles, rolls, and shimmies all over in her crib, throws her blanket around and sticks her bum in the air to find a comfortable position. One morning several months ago I came in to find Camille still asleep like this:
