Here's the run-down as quickly as I can give it...
Wednesday the 6th I was having contractions the whole day, we knew we would probably be heading to the hospital that night. We headed to the hospital at 1:30 am (thursday morning) when my contractions were 5 min apart. They weren't really painful yet, but knowing how quickly I had dilated last time I knew we should give ourselves plenty of time. When they checked and I was only at 3cm, they sent us home and said "we'll see you in a few days" and told us to get some sleep.
As soon as we headed home I started having contractions every 3 min and they became really painful. We called the hospital again and they said to walk around, take a bath, and hopefully the contractions would go away. Huh??? So when they continued to get worse and worse, I told Nick at 6:30am that we HAD to get to the hospital. Just then my water broke, and we headed downtown to the hospital at 7am. Thank goodness there wasn't much traffic. I told Nick, "I don't care what you do, just get there FAST and NO bumps please!!" I knew I was probably too late for an epidural, and at this point I was just praying I didn't have to delivery a baby on the freeway!
We got checked in, they rushed me to the delivery room since I was fully dilated. I was begging for an epidural, but it was too late. 2 or 3 pushes later, out came Eleanor at 7:45 am and everything was just peachy. I felt like a warrior woman when it was all over. I must say, no epidural was not too bad. I was grateful the delivery went fast, and I felt awesome after I delivered.
Since we didn't have enough time to grab our camera, Eleanor's first moments in the world were captured by our phone's camera.
Fresh out the oven!

Birthday Boy!
We didn't forget about Nick's birthday this year! The big 2-8! Birthdays are a big deal to Nick--he said it didn't really feel like his birthday this year since he had to go to school. He vowed in the future to always take his birthday off from work...we'll see what happens! :) He got a few fun things for his birthday including some new hair clippers!

Summer camping trip
We decided to squeeze in a camping trip this summer. We figured we probably wouldn't want to take a newborn baby, and this was the only chance we would have for camping this summer! We got to go with the Renchers, and we got more than a few looks with two 9-months pregnant chicks walking around the campground.
We went to High Cliff State Park which is about 1 1/2 hrs from Milwaukee. It was on beautiful Lake Winnebago, and we were blessed with fabulous weather and little to no bugs! The state park used to be part of a limestone quarry and there are still remnants of the old kilns and other fun things to see. The "cliffs" are made of limestone and the bedrock extends from there all the way up to Niagara Falls.

Chief something or other...I can't remember....

Big Helper Girl
I had several people stress to me how important it is to let Camille help with things so that she feels like she is a part of this "new baby" thing, and not being replaced by any means. Before Eleanor was born we talked a lot about being a Big Helper and *most* of the time Camille loves to help with things. The new baby was no exception, she loves to help with anything we let her, including diaper changes.
Last day of swim class!
Miss Camille sure loved her swim classes, we will definitely have to take some more in the future! A few pics of our little swimmer's last day of class:

And then there were two...
Eleanor's first pictures ever ended up being taken on Nick's camera phone. When I get some more time (haha) I'll give you a short and sweet "birth story" and explain why we didn't have time to get the camera from the car for such a special event. Here's a few pictures we got after we were able to get our real camera:
It was love at first sight for Nick and I, and thankfully for Camille too! She loves her baby sister and is so sweet and gentle with her. Hopefully it stays that way!
Ready to go home, waiting for our ride! :)
