Cedar City

My Johnson grandparents also live in southern Utah.  We lucked out and Nick's sister Emily and their family made the drive up from Arizona for a few days.  We went on a hike I have always loved.  It's only a mile long so it's great for kids and has lots of great places to take pictures.

With a backdrop like this, it's pretty impossible to take a bad picture!

The hike takes you right on the ledge above the arch in this picture below.  It's quite the lookout!

Holding the rock up

E had to get in on the rock-holding-up action too.  I want to pinch that little tummy!

W slept for a good portion of the time.  Poor little neck kept flopping around.

Too bright!

Finally awake!

We also got to go out for an adults only dinner, visited a neighbor's farm animals and ate lots of good food of course.  Visits with family always go too quickly and are too far between!

Summit

We drove to Utah in May to visit some of our family there.  This was W's first time meeting his Wilson great grandparents.  We haven't been to visit as often as we would like, and C & E both didn't remember them well.  Our stay was lots of fun, we drove through Zion's National Park, swam at the aquatic center in town and enjoyed talking and relaxing with my grandparents.

The Wilsons have kept and even bought lots of fun toys for their grandchildren to play with.  They are so kind and giving to everyone, we appreciate everything they do for us!

There are often 50+ hummingbirds at a time around their back porch.  It's fun to watch them dive around and try to get a quick picture before they zoom away.

I love that even though he is over 80 years old, my grandpa will still lay down on the floor and play with my kids.  He will even crawl around and chase them.  He is the silliest grandpa I know!

Family pictures with kids age 4, 2 and 9 months are a bit of a joke and you have to be happy with what you get!

Thank you for the fun visit!
