We also had a great time with the Wilson family. We packed in lots of fun things, and managed to get some pics as well.
Went on a little hike. Can I just say I love the pacific northwest?!
At one point Kyle ran down a different path and we could see him darting through some trees. We thought it was a great impression of Edward (twilight) although he was a bit slower :)
Logan's all-time favorite song is "Praise to the Man". He knows all the words and sings the loudest whenever it gets sung in sacrament meetings. We had fun playing and singing songs together.
For FHE we went swimming. We had a great time. It must have been the beginning of summer because yikes we are all so white!
Showing off her "floating" skills
Trying out the kayaks with Uncle Kyle
We went to a cool park on the beach. I think this was Camille's first trip to the "real" ocean. We go to the beach at Lake Michigan which feels so much like the ocean with the tides, sand etc that I sometimes forget it's just a lake!
Learning to skip/throw rocks
This pic makes me laugh. Kyle was jumping off some driftwood with Camille. He is such a good uncle to protect her neck from whiplash. He is great with kids in general, he is a stud and we'll miss him when he leaves on his mission in 2 months!
Giving Jenna a hug goodnight. A new approach to "baby got back". Cam was wearing her night-time cloth diapers, they make her bum look extra huge. We had some good laughs getting her to "dance" which just means she shakes her big booty :)
The Maritime Festival in Seattle was a lot of fun on a beautiful sunny day. There were lots of fun events including fireboat demonstrations, air/water helicopters and tug-boat races.
The coast guard were there and we got to take a tour of one of their boats. As we were about 20 ft up the stairs onto the boat, the wind caught Camille's hat and whisked it into the Puget Sound. I thought it was gone for good, but some of the coast guard guys said they would see if the could hook it when it came around the side. A few minutes into the tour he came back with a dripping wet hat. Thanks guys!
The family minus Brian, Christina, their kiddos and Courtney.
There was an awesome clam chowder tour we went on. For $5 each you could go to 10 different restaurants on the waterfront and taste their clam chowder. At the end you got to vote for the best one. We were sooooo stuffed by the end but it was delicious! Our favorite was at Anthony's.
After the festival we stopped by the REI store in Seattle. If you ever get the chance, stop here! It's REI's flagship store and has tons of awesome things, not to mention it's humongous.
They have a fun kid's play area. We tried to get a pic of the cousins in this cute little kayak, but of course it was too exciting to get them all to look at the same time :)
Kyle, Camille and I met up with Christina and her kids, along with the Welch's at Point Defiance zoo & aquarium. It's been years since I've been here and I forgot how beautiful it is. It's nestled right up against the Puget Sound in Tacoma so the view is amazing. We had a great time and lucked out with another beautiful and sunny day.
Feeding the budgie birds was exciting and scary at the same time!
Spent some time at the park, Camille begs for "swings and slide" every day!
