Donuts and gelato for breakfast

My grandparents came to visit us earlier this month.  We picked the perfect weekend for them to stay over--the weather was still nice and warm, but the leaves had begun to change and it was just beautiful outside. We had so much fun with them, showing off our fun city, and just spending time together.  I don't get to see my grandparents often, so I was thrilled when they said they would like to visit.

It was so bright and sunny that most of our pictures we have squinty eyes. :)m  Here were are at the botanical gardens

Trip to the beach nearby

This little lady love the water and sand, just like her mother.

Hiking!

We headed up to Door County for the weekend, which is the "thumb" of Wisconsin state and known for its beautiful falls.  On our way up we took a tour of the Packer's stadium

The tour was so much fun, although we were sad to be the only ones in our tour group that were not attending the game the next day! (which we won, oh yeah!)

Lookout points in Door County.  The loveliest little towns, scenery that takes your breath away

Lighthouse

More hiking

We were inspecting a dead salmon that washed up :)

Pumpkin patches and apple orchards galore up here!

Rope maze

We bought some gelato to eat after dinner the night before, but we were too stuffed after some delicious pizza.  We HAD to get some fresh made apple cider donuts (along with red velvet, pumpkin, and old fashioned) for breakfast and since we couldn't just throw away our gelato, we had a delightful breakfast of donuts and gelato.  The girls loved it and I felt like a pretty rad mom. ;-)

Top O' The Thumb!

We also enjoyed *lots* of custard, the Kohler Design Center, Broken Yolk, a tour of the dental school and a comedy show.  We packed so much in, but I'm glad we did because our went went fast! So glad you came to visit, Johnsons!  Love you lots!
