First came Nick's birthday in June.
It may not look like it, but this was a delicious ice cream cake with candles to spell out "29"
Then came Eleanor's first birthday! The poor girl was sick and felt miserable. She wasn't very interested in doing anything, including digging into her birthday cupcake.
She was pleased to meet her first tiny baby doll. She loves to push this little stroller around.
Camille was happy to help.
The cupcake cake. I am not much of a cake decorator, so this was going out on a limb for me. Nick has always been a great cook (thanks for that, Grandma Debbie!) but also has phenomenal culinary presentation skills. I make sure my cooking tastes great, but by then I don't really care about the presentation. :)
The sickie with her poor little nose.
A week before Eleanor was born we knew she would be coming soon. Every day I kept thinking, any day now would be great! Just as long as you're not born on our anniversary we won't have to worry about anything overlapping. Low and behold she was born 7am on the day of our anniversary. :)
After the birthday celebration, we went out for dinner to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. Has it really been that long?! A lot has happened since 7-7-07. And I still love Nick even more each day!
We celebrated my birthday in Washington sans Nick, who was finishing his finals before joining us.
My mom and I made an A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.!!!! triple chocolate mousse cake. We saved a slice for Nick who came a few days later and he thought it came from a bakery. ;-) Definitely saving that recipe!!
We gave Eleanor a second shot at birthday cake, and she sure made up her first try!
Next came Miss Camille's 3rd birthday. The night before I took her to the grocery store for some birthday donuts to have for breakfast and let her pick out a birthday cake. I got lazy and decided to go that route instead of making one!
Displaying her "new" way to show she's 3. She is all about sprinkles these days!
I'm sure she is thinking every breakfast will be like this now that she's the big 3
Eleanor got in on the goodness too
Cake time! She loved this tiny cake with the "real" bird with "real" feathers.
It honestly took at least 10 tries before she blew any candles out. And no, they weren't trick candles.
Thank you so much to our friends, parents, grandparents and the rest of our family for making our celebrations extra special!! Cheers until next year!
